Make your mark on the Shenandoah County Fair for another 100 years

The history of the Shenandoah County Fair will be represented by a time capsule buried beneath a timeless brick patio, to be installed at the Fairground entrance. In honor of the Shenandoah County Fair’s 100 Years of Heritage, you can leave your mark on this patio and the fair, forever.

The Shenandoah County Fair is offering 4x8 and 8x8 pavers to be engraved with your name, company name/logo, or message. Your paver will be prominently displayed in the new patio for all future generations of fair attendees and participants to enjoy. If you are interested in leaving your mark on the Shenandoah County Fair, please fill out an order form and return it to Tom Eshelman, General Manager of the fair. He can be reached via the Fair office, located on the fairgrounds, or by phone 540-459-3867 or e-mail tom@shencofair.com or fax it to 540-459-4600. (Click this link to download order form)

The cookbook will be printed by Morris Press Cookbooks of Kearney, Nebraska. This mouth-watering cookbook will contain 300+ recipes — everything you need from appetizers to home remedies — combined into a single book that will be treasured for generations to come. Each recipes will include the contributor’s name, so it’s easy to find the recipes of friends and loved ones.

We are asking those in the community to submit recipes. We are interested in older recipes, family recipes, family/original recipes with a story, as well as current recipes.

We are in hopes of receiving recipes in several different categories! The suggested categories will be, but not limited to:

Salads/Soups   •   Appetizers/Beverages/Wines   •   Vegetables/Side Dishes   •   Main Dishes   •   Breads and Rolls   •   Dips   •   Cakes/Pies   •   Candies/Cookies   •   Desserts   •   Meat Curing   •   Butchering   •   Dehydration   •   Canning   •   Cast Iron Recipes   •   Outdoor Cooking   •   Woodstove Recipes   •   Jams/Jellies/Relishes   •   Gardening Tips   •   Home Remedies

We are looking for recipes that originated in Shenandoah County, recipes that have been entered into the Shenandoah County Fair at one point or another, recipes passed from one generation to another, current and antiques! All are welcome.

We will be accepting recipes thru November 30th. Recipes should be neatly printed or typed on the recipe collection sheet. One recipe per sheet.

Please note: Due to the possibility of duplication of recipes, there is no guarantee that every recipe submitted will be published.
